The ICA Housing Board met in London on Tuesday 29 April and visited two housing cooperatives in London owned by one of ICA Housing's Members, CDS Coops UK. Click to view the photos.


 The ICA Housing Board met in London on Tuesday 29 April. CDS Coops, the host of the meeting in London, arranged for two site visits to CDS Housing Co-operatives. The first was to Sanford Housing Cooperative in New Cross and the second to St George's Church Housing Co-operative Limited in Camberwell. Ths Sanford Housing Cooperative, London, UK is a row of fourteen houses and one apartment complex in the New Cross area of London.

The ICA Housing Board are given a tour of one of the houses in Sanford Housing Cooperative.

Sanford Housing Cooperative has reduced its carbon emissions by sixty per cent through using wood chip heaters for the houses.

There is a recreational area between the houses and a garden with a pond. A bicycle shed is planning to be build for the residents.

St George's Church Housing Cooperative is a converted church in the Camberwell area of London, UK.


The entire inside of the church has been transformed into a courtyard with apartments surrounding it.


The former bell tower now offers great views of the housing cooperative and surrounding area.
