ICA Housing is a sectoral organisation of the International Co-operative Alliance. It was established to promote the development of co-operative housing in all countries, and in particular developing countries, as an economic and social contribution to the problem of providing shelter.
ICA Housing is one of the nine sectors of the International Co-operative Alliance. We are very proud of the fact that we are the apex body of the worldwide co‑operative housing movement. Our mission is to unite, represent and serve the international movement for co‑operative and mutual self-help housing.

Author David Rodgers, an ICA Housing Board Member, the paper aims to highlight how the UK government, as well as other national governments, may use a new model of mutual home ownership that can create permanently affordable intermediate market homes, even against the background of the credit crunch. Driving global recovery through co-operatives: International Day of Co-operatives 2009
This year's International Day theme focuses on recovery rather than crisis. It aims to highlight the role that co-operatives have in not only promoting economic growth, but also promoting ethical values - values which have been severely challenged during the financial and food crisis. It underlines that co-operatives can effectively contribute to global economic recovery and that they will do so in respect of the co-operative values and principles which guide their operations. The Day will be celebrated around the world on 4 July 2009.
