    The International Co-operative Alliance - Asia & Pacific is one of the operating regional offices of the ICA. It serves 55 national level member organizations and one international organization in 22 countries. ICA - Asia & Pacific's current work Programme aims towards:

    • Protecting the co-operative identity and image
    • Creating enabling policies and legislation in member countries for co-operatives
    • Developing leadership and value-based professional management
    • Promoting international co-operative trade network
    • Utilizing information, communication and technology for development
    • Mainstreaming gender, youth and marginalized groups in co-operatives

    Shil-Kwan Lee
    Shil-Kwan Lee (Korea)
    Shil Kwan Lee has been Regional Director of ICA's Regional Office for Asia & Pacific since January 2002. He previously worked for the National Agricultural Co-operative Federation (NACF) in Korea since 1972. At NACF he worked in various departments dealing with training and banking and most recently was General Manager of International Co-operation Office of NACF where he was responsible for the ICA General Assembly 2001 in Seoul. Mr. Lee has also been a consultant to the World Bank and served as the Secretary-General of the International Co-operative Agricultural Organisation (ICAO).
