ICA works with policymakers to create a more conducive environment for cooperatives. The ICA has a permanent seat and a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is a founding member of the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC).

ICETT serves as a strategic hub that provides members with valuable information to strengthen cooperatives' competitive advantage.

The ICA Cooperative Cultural Heritage Programme celebrates the world's cooperative story from historic buildings and monuments to traditions and practices that bring people together. These are the places and ideas that have stood the test of time, inspiring solidarity, trust, and shared purpose across generations.

The Cooperatives and Mutuals Leadership Circle (CM50) brings together cooperative and mutual leaders from across the globe, many from the World Cooperative Monitor list. Leveraging the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives (IYC2025), the CM50 first aim is to present a Charter and a Commitment Plan during the Second UN World Summit of Social Development (WSSD2) to be held from 4 to 6 November, in Doha, Qatar.

The ICA and Euricse partner in this annual report analysing the socio-economic value and impact of the top 300 biggest cooperatives in the world.

The ICA has been participating in G20 Engagement Groups since 2014, having representatives in taskforces and contributing actively to the discussions and reporting.

We celebrate cooperatives through storytelling. stories.coop is a global campaign where you can submit and find the inspiring work of cooperatives around the world. This initiative was founded by the International Cooperative Alliance and Euricse in 2012 to celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives. For the duration of 2012, one story was published each day promoting the work and successes of cooperatives everywhere. Since then, Identity.coop has joined this initiative.
