2019 International Day of Cooperatives is fast approaching!
On 6 July, cooperatives from all around the world will show what makes them special under the slogan COOPS 4 DECENT WORK.
We’re shouting out the message that cooperatives are people-centred enterprises, characterised by democratic control, that prioritise human development and social justice within the workplace.
The theme is chosen to support the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 ‘Inclusive development and decent work’.
You can read more about the theme here
For the 2019 International Day of Cooperatives, we’ll be taking inspiration from the successful 2018 #CoopsDay edition.
We have designed the Cooperators' guide to give you all the information you need to promote #CoopsDay 2019, including :
- the logo and related graphic materials in different languages and formats,
- 'ready to post’ messages for the social media, and
- an interactive map to show how cooperatives worldwide are joining in with the celebrations!
We are proposing cooperators divers actions to promote #CoopsDay. Just find the one that suits you! Download it here

About the International Day of Cooperatives
It will be the 25th United Nations International Day of Cooperatives and the 97th International Cooperative day.
The International Day of Cooperatives is an annual celebration of the cooperative movement which happens on the first Saturday of July since 1923 by the International Cooperative Alliance. Since 1995, together with the United Nations, we have been setting the theme for the celebration of #CoopsDay through the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC), a multi-stakeholder partnership of global public and private institutions that champions and supports people-centred and self-sustaining cooperative enterprises as leaders in sustainable development. The International Cooperative Alliance is a founding member.
