In 2018, the International Day of Cooperatives was celebrated on the 7th of July. It unveiled:
- the first #CoopsDay interactive map showing more than 60 events from 40 countries worldwide, elaborated together with DotCoop
- a Cooperators’ guide to help the movement promote #coopsday
- the stories of 12 cooperatives from the different regions and sectors
- press releases, a video series, a statement and full coverage on social media!

With "sustainable consumption and production of goods and services" as theme in mind, cooperators selected the 2018 International Day of Cooperatives (#CoopsDay) slogan: Sustainable societies through cooperation.
Both reflect the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 12 which is ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’. Sustainable societies are ones that reflect the environmental, social and economic limits to growth.
